Pulling Up and Playing it up for the Camera

Since I hadn’t posted any video of Dylan pulling up yet, I figured I should before he starts doing something new.  The problem is that Dylan LOVES the camera and once he sees it, he starts smiling and hamming it up.

So, here is my first attempt at getting Dylan on camera crawling and pulling up. As you will see, as soon as he spotted the camera, he hightailed it to me so he could get a close up.

And here is the second attempt. At least he makes it to his destination, but then he has to keep turning around to smile and make sure I am still taping him. Silly baby!

And finally, on the third attempt, he decides he can pull up and still “make love” to the camera. Ridiculous!

The Big Tub

We decided that Dylan might like to take a bath in the big bathtub tonight since he has gotten so good at sitting up and seems to want to play in the tub now.

Here are some photos of him having fun in the “real” bath tub.

If you look hard you can see Dylan showing off his two little bottom teeth. He even has a top tooth coming in now!

And here he is looking up at his dad.

He enjoyed playing with his toys.

And here is some cute video of him splashing around in his first real bath.

I think we will move to the big bath for good!

Dylan and Abbey’s New Game

Abbey LOVES to play, and she enjoys being chased around the house by Kyle. But last night Kyle discovered that Dylan loves chasing Abbey too, and she has fun being chased by him. :)

(I have decided that Dylan might enjoy being video taped a little too much… pay attention to how he “plays” to the camera.)

Fun in the Bath

Dylan has been enjoying his bath time a little more lately. He has been sitting up in his little tub instead of reclining like he usually does, and he has been playing with his toys and patting the water. It is VERY cute.

Here are some videos of him playing in the bath tonight. What a little cutie!

Today Was a Good Day…

Dylan has been super active lately. He is crawling about, chasing Abbey around and getting in to everything! We started out the day by playing baby in the basket… which is really just Dylan sitting in the laundry basket while I fold his laundry and put it away; he seems to like it and today he decided he wanted to stand up so he grabbed the sides of the basket and pulled himself up. He seemed to be pretty pleased with himself.

So later in the day, he did this.

As you can see from the above photos… he thinks he is quite the little man for standing up in his bed. Kyle and I decided that perhaps it was time to lower his crib another few inches.

Dylan also decided to play on his rocking horse today.

He can’t rock it himself yet, so he sits on it and I will move him back and forth. He seems to think it is pretty fun.

I have been trying to convince Dylan that sitting can be fun too because he just wants to stand pretty much all the time. He decided he could sit for a few minutes today and play in his room.

He sat and played for a bit but then decided he needed to stand some more.

Slow down, Mr. Dylan! You are growing up too fast!

License and Registration Please!

Dylan’s Uncle Anthony is a policeman in Kansas and on our last visit he gave us a cute little police car that his daughter Samantha had outgrown. It has been sitting in our garage since we brought it home because Dylan has been too little for it, but we decided to let Dylan give it a try yesterday and he LOVED it. He is still too little to actually push it himself but he liked sitting in it while Kyle pushed him.

When I looked at the photos I took, I thought the series would tell a good story and I even made one up about Dylan’s first day on the job. I WAS going to share it here but then I decided… why stifle the creativity of our readers. They can make up a fun story of their own, so that is what I am challenging you to do!

Look over the cute photos below and then write a little story about Dylan’s adventure. I would LOVE you to then share it in the comments. :) Come on and play along!

Father’s Day

Dylan presented Kyle with his first Father’s Day present last night – a new pair of Oakley sunglasses. Dylan was mighty proud that he could hold the present himself. We made Kyle close his eyes and when he opened them, Dylan was holding his present.

Dylan decided to give Kyle the present last night so Kyle could wear them cycling this morning, while Dylan and I slept in. After Kyle’s bike ride, Dylan and I took him to brunch at the Cliff Cafe at the Belmont Hotel where they have delicious Cranberry Orange French Toast among other tasty treats. Upon returning home, Kyle watched some golf (translation – took a nap on the couch) and Dylan took a nap as well… just a nice leisurely day.

Here is a photo of the boys posing together in their shades.

Thanks for being a great dad, Kyle! We love you!

I Need More Baby Pool Party!

Riley’s mom, Maureen, sent me some cute photos she took of Riley and Dylan at the baby pool party so I thought I would share them here.

As you can tell from the photo, Riley is much more comfortable in the water than Dylan is.

The rest of the photos Maureen took are of Dylan “swimming.” I had gone inside to do something and my mom was playing with Dylan. Maureen didn’t want me to miss Dylan having fun in the water, so she took some photos. Thanks Maureen!!

Cute!

Baby Pool Party!

Today was Dylan’s baby pool party. Things were a little hectic from the beginning because we had a house showing that lasted until 10:30 and the party started at 11:00 so we had to rush to get the pools in place before the baby guests arrived.

Kyle did a great job grilling burgers, brauts and hot dogs so we had some yummy food (along with some delicious cupcakes I made and a fruit pizza). MMMMM!!!

But I know, you didn’t come here to hear about the food… you want to see photos of the babies! By the way, I apologize that I took no pictures of the kiddie pool where the two and up crowd were frolicking but I was focused on holding Dylan up in the baby pool (or taking pictures of the babies while my mom held him up).

The baby pool had three babies in it! Miss Brynleigh was the smallest at 4 months, then Dylan at 6 months and Riley at 8 months. I am happy to say that there was not a tear shed in the baby pool (maybe some minor fussing… but no crying)!

Here is Dylan being held up by his Mamma.

As you can see, the pool party was a hit with the babies!

“Walking” and Other Cute Video

We have been using the little Flip video camera a lot lately, so I thought I would post some of the cute moments with have captured.

When Dylan isn’t crawling around everywhere he likes to stand and “walk.” So, here he is taking the trek down the hallway. As you can see, he is quite proud of himself.

He got a little tired in this one. (Oh, and in case you didn’t notice from the video footage… Abbey likes to attack Dylan when he walks). :)

Dylan likes to sit up in his little chair after he eats, and I decided to try and teach him to tap or bang on the tray, but he decided he wanted to be a baby samurai instead.

Playing with balls is an endless source of entertainment for Dylan (until he gets distracted by something else). Fun!
