I am happy to report that Dylan has been sleeping in his crib in his own room for over a week now. He is doing pretty well and I think is getting the routine down. He seems to know that once it is dark and we put him in his crib that it is no longer “nap time” but time to settle in for the night. Unfortunately, he is still getting up to eat about every four-five hours, but hopefully he will begin sleeping longer periods of time soon.
Our routine for getting ready for bed is to get a diaper change and dressed in his pajamas, eat, read a bedtime story with mom and then have some snuggle time with mom and dad… and then it is off to the crib.
Here are a few pictures of us reading two of his favorite books (I Love You Through and Through and I’ll See You in the Morning.)
He also really seems to like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Guess How Much I Love You and Olivia (a gift from Brynleigh).
We read a book every night, so we would love some suggestions. What is a children’s book you think Dylan might like?

Brynleigh loves all of Sandra Boynton’s books, but one of her favorites is “Hippos Go Berserk!”

Definitely “Goodnight Moon”! Both of mine loved it! We are on the 3rd one now since they wore the other 2 board books out! Enjoy!
I think Riley’s favorite is “Rainbow Rob.” He also likes “God Loves You(Little Blessings)” and “Goodnight Moon.” He somewhat likes the Funny Face books “Alien Al” and “Dizzy Dragon” but mainly the last page with the lights or the pages with the fuzzy things to touch.
I thought of another book that little Brynleigh likes: Gossie
“Gossie is a gosling. A small, yellow gosling who likes to wear bright red boots.”
We love her!

Thank you all for your suggestions. I went to the bookstore today and got them all (plus a few others)! Tonight we read Gossie and Personal Penguin by Sandra Boyton. I know Dylan is going to enjoy the new books.
