It has been a few days since we have had a chance to post anything new, but we have been busy! Dylan has been in high demand and has gotten to get out of the house to see some people and places.
On Tuesday (December 30th) we made a trip to my grandmother’s house in Arlington so Dylan could meet one of his great-grandmothers. While we were there, he also got to meet my Uncle Steve, Aunt Martha and two of my cousins, Stefanie and Jennifer, as well as Stephanie’s 9 month old son, Dalton. It was a big day. He got attention from lots of new people. Dylan seemed to have a nice time meeting his great-grandmother and the other members of his family (I am sure all of the attention he received helped).
I didn’t take pictures of everyone who held him because I forget, but I have a few pictures I can share with you.
Here is Dylan with my Uncle Steve.
And here is Dylan with my cousin Stefanie.
After the visit at my grandmother’s, we got to go get a new battery for Kyle’s car and Dylan helped him install it! Sorry, but I don’t have any pictures of this.
Unfortunately, Dylan became pretty fussy Tuesday night and it continued ALL DAY Wednesday. I finally narrowed down the culprit to gas and we were eventually able to get Dylan settled and to sleep. So, we spent our New Year’s at home with fussy baby which is okay; it is just not how we normally celebrate the New Year.
On Wednesday (January 1st) we had some more visitors! Dylan got to have his Christmas with his Mamma Stephens, Pappa Stephens, and he got to meet his Uncle Chris. We visited, opened presents and ate some pizza. Dylan got a lot of attention from his Mamma and Pappa; his Uncle Chris thought he was cute but isn’t really in to babies. I did manage to get a picture of him holding Dylan though.
And then, on Wednesday evening, Dylan got to meet Kyle’s “parents” from Kansas. Mom and Dad drove in to meet Dylan and were anxious to hold him. Unfortunately Dylan was sleeping when they arrived so they had to wait a little bit. But, once he got up, he go lots of love. Dad attested to being the authority on feeding, soothing and putting babies to sleep.
Dylan wasn’t so sure at first.
But, he eventually conceded that his Papa is pretty good with the babies.
His Nana seems to have the soothing touch as well.
Once we opened presents with the Smiths, loved on Dylan and visited, we decided to attempt to go to dinner. It was Dylan’s first trip to dinner, and luckily, he slept the entire time in the restaurant.
So, we had a couple of busy days and Dylan met a lot of important peeps, but he still has a bunch more VIPs to meet. He still needs to meet his Grandma and Grandpa Stevens, his Great-Grandma Stevens, his Meme, Mam Cheri, Aunt Dana, Cousins Delaney and Carson, Uncle Andy, Uncle Anthony and Aunt Jessica and Cousins Jasmine and Samantha… not to mention lots of friends and extended family. Dylan is blessed to have so many wonderful people in his life.
