Dylan’s umbilical cord stump fell off yesterday so we decided it was time for Dylan’s first bath tonight. (On a side note, there was some drama with the umbilical stump since Abbey grabbed it and started to run off with it in her mouth. Luckily when I shrieked in disgust she dropped it and Kyle was able to get it and dispose of it properly… gross!)

Back to bathtime… in preparation for his first bath, I read up on how to properly bathe an infant and got his tub and all of the bath essentials together. Needless to say, my preparation did not really matter because Dylan HATED his bath… as is evidenced by the pictures below.

Did I mention that he did not enjoy his bath…

Dylan did, however, enjoy being wrapped up in his towel by Dad after the bath was over.

And then we upset him again by stripping him down to clean his belly button, put a diaper on him, and get him clothed.

Dylan doesn’t really like to be “naked baby” so anytime we change his diaper or his clothes he gets fussy, but fortunatley, once he is dressed again, he calms right down.

I am hoping Dylan will get used to his bathtime as we bathe him more frequently… keep your fingers crossed.
