Making weight and getting some proper clothes

After a short active labor period, Dylan Carter made his entrance to the world promptly at 2:17 p.m. on 8 Dec 08. Shortly after his arrival he made his way to the training table to clean up. After a quick washing and the ceremonial cutting of the cord, with no problems of any kind by Dad, he made it just in time for official weigh-ins.

Mom, Dad, and Melissa (Dylan’s and Angela’s nurse) all took bets as to the official weight with Dr. Neal quietly abstaining. Dad won with Dylan showing up 1 ounce under his weight class, trusting this will be the first of several weigh-ins Dylan sneaks in just under the mark. Official competition weight was 8 pounds and 8 ounces.

After weigh-ins Dylan finally got out of the cold and into some clothing. First he made a pit stop for a diaper. Dad was more than willing to demonstrate his diaper handling ability. Upon successful completion of his first diaper Kyle was excused from all future diaper obligations.

Following a quick stop by wardrobe, Dylan tested his lung capacity. Based upon his initial performance Dylan is planning to challenge Lance Armstrong’s record VO2 Max in a few years.

Cleaned, weighed, and dressed Dylan was ready to make the rounds. He began with a portrait with Dad; and yes Kyle is smiling.

With a successful handoff, Dad reunites Dylan with Mom.

Following some quality time with Mom, Dylan got an introduction to Grandma and Grandpa Stephens.

Dylan then headed toward the nursery for a proper scrubbing and the tale of the tape. In his first official Las Vegas measurement Dylan completed every inch of 20 inches.

Finally after a long day of making weight and introductions, Dylan found some proper attire.

Dylan would like to thank all those people who sent texts, calls, etc. welcoming him to Dallas. His excitement is already building to leave the hospital and check out his crib in Oak Cliff. For those not in the Dallas area wanting to keep up with the travelings of Dylan Carter Stevens, you can follow him on twitter.
