Time for some drugs!!

After about six hours we are now officially in “active labor”. The morning was some what calm until about Dr. Neal arrived at 9 a.m. When he arrived not much had changed since last week, so he went ahead and broke Angela’s water. Shortly after that the contractions started to pick-up and it was time for the epidural. It took about 60 minutes for the drugs to kick-in but now Angela is feeling better. We are just over half way dialated, so the nurse said that it should only be a few more hours or so. After six hours I guess a few more hours is not bad, but in total ten hours seems like a long time.
On a side note, while Angela did well with the epidural, I did not. I did my husbandly duties and held her hand while the doctor shot her up. About half way through the process I got a little warm and my knees started to shake. The nurse was helpful and slid me the stool. Let me clarify this by saying I hate hospitals. I guess it was the smell of the drugs because I was not dumb enough to look at the needle.
No pictures this round. I was told that all pictures required prior approval and I’m not going to test that one.

I didn’t get the epidural, but I did get a spinal. It is the STRANGEST thing ever, but it sure beats feeling the pain!

It’s worth the wait- really!
So the four hour guesstimate was just that. Angela is fully dilated and they are prepping the delivery table. Dylan should be here in time for the Heroes tonight.

Save me some of those drugs!….you hang in there tough guy, remember you’re a Jayhawk and Angela is doing all the work. Our best to the three of you!

Just got a phone text msg that Dylan Carter Stevens arrived at 2:17 pm 8 lbs. 8 oz.
I guess Kyle couldn’t take his laptop in the delivery room.
