D-Day

The day has arrived. We woke up this morning at about 4 a.m. to drive to the hospital for our 6 a.m. appointment. With the bags packed and the coffee strong, just for me of course, we got ready to leave. Before we could leave we had to dog proof the house and find a way to entertain Abbey while we are gone. We are trusting this will work, at least for a while.

And then she went psycho …

We arrived at the hospital just prior to 6 a.m. Since we have previously been to the baby dept our check-in was quick and easy. Angela got settled in her luxurious accomidations.

So far, all is well. Dylan’s heart is kicking away and now we are just waiting around. You can see or hear his healthy heart.

So as of right now, all is well and it is just a waiting game. But since Angela is resting up for some hard work later today, I figure I should do the same. And since she has not been able to eat since last night, I’m gonna let her take one for the team.

By the way, I’m famous.

  1. 1) Abbey is awesome. She looks very ferocious gnawing away on her “kill.”
    2) I love that you refer to the maternity ward as the “baby dept.” Ben and I are going to start using that.
    3) Way to eat breakfast in front of your starving wife.
    4) Love the update! So happy to live in the internet age and not the era of the Pony Express!

  2. Oh, and I’m going to need you to pour a little salsa on top of the cream cheese that you eat with your wheat things. Unreal.

  3. My wife would kill me if her pre-baby pic made it to the blog. We saw a pic of her 10 months pregnant this weekend and she wanted to die.
Anyone, putting together a list of alternative names for the baby, in case “Dylan” doesn’t quite fit: Danny, Bill, Phog, Mark, T.J. (for TJ Pugh, Omaha native), Mario. Just so you have some back ups :)
Good luck! Hope everything goes well.

  4. I am so glad you are famous! I love veggie cream cheese and wheat thins btw.
    Tell the girl hey!

  5. Wow, Dylan, you are blogging as you are being delivered. The good thing is you still are not blocked at BD, but wait a few hours and thet could change.
We can’t wait to meet you.
By the way I stand by my original name suggestion: Stephen.
